Check and repair your connection

Your bikes' wear is worked out from the rides that come in from your sports app, Strava. If the connection breaks, rides stop arriving and wear stands still. Your profile shows whether everything works, and lets you repair it yourself.

Check your connection

Go to your sincrona profile. If it's your first time, see how to access your account. The Your connection card shows:

  • The status: Working or Broken.
  • Platform: the sports app your rides come from.
  • Last synchronized: when we last checked for your rides, or Never if that hasn't happened yet.
  • Broken since: when it broke, if it's broken.

Why it breaks

The connection breaks when Strava stops accepting our access to your data. That usually comes down to one of these:

  • You removed sincrona's access in your Strava settings.
  • Strava no longer accepts the permission you gave us, and we can't renew it.

We spot it ourselves and, each time it breaks, send you one notification on the channel you chose: email or WhatsApp (see contact and notifications). Your workshop isn't notified. While it's broken, the card shows the Your rides stopped arriving warning. No new rides come in and the ones waiting to be confirmed stay on hold, so your bikes' wear isn't updated.

Repair the connection

Open your profile

Go to your sincrona profile. If it's your first time, see how to access your account.

Click "Repair connection"

The Repair connection button is on the Your connection card. It takes you to Strava.

Give sincrona access in Strava

Log in with the same Strava account you joined sincrona with, and authorize access with every permission box ticked.

Use the same account

Your bikes and rides come from the Strava account you joined with. If you give access with a different one, the connection isn't repaired. For now, you can't switch to a different sports app either.

Back to your profile

Strava sends you back to your profile, and a message tells you how it went. If you see Connection repaired, we catch up in the background on the rides you did while it was broken, and your bikes' wear is brought up to date.

If it isn't repaired

The message you see back on your profile tells you what happened:

  • The connection wasn't repaired: you didn't give access in Strava. Click Repair connection again whenever you're ready.
  • That's not your account: you gave access with a different Strava account. Go through the steps again with the account you joined sincrona with.
  • Could not repair the connection: check that you left every permission box ticked in Strava, and try again later.

If it still doesn't work, write to us at hola@sincrona.cc and we'll give you a hand.

Reconnecting when it works

When the connection works, the button on the card reads Reconnect to Strava. You can use it whenever you like: the steps are the same and you don't lose anything.
