Documentation for Cyclists

In this section you’ll find all the information you need to use sincrona as a cyclist. We’ll explain how to start using the platform and how your bikes and rides will be synchronized. You’ll also find detailed information about what data we handle and how we use it to offer you the best possible experience: what is shared with your workshop and what data remains private.

Getting Started

The basic principle of sincrona is to improve the relationship between cyclists and workshops. Therefore, to start using the platform you’ll need your workshop to invite you to join their workspace. We recommend that you go to your trusted workshop and ask them to register you, in this way:

Your workshop will create an account for you

The workshop will need some basic contact information: your name, email address, and phone number (optional). You can choose your preferred communication channel: email or WhatsApp.

Additionally, the workshop will ask you what sports app you use to record your bike rides (Strava, Garmin Connect, etc.). From there we’ll get both your bikes and the rides you take with them.

Important

Make sure your bikes are correctly defined in the sports app you use. Use descriptive and unique names for each one, for example use “Van Rysel NCR CF Tiagra” instead of “Road bike”, or “My burro”.

When you record a new ride, take a few seconds to verify that the bike used is the correct one. Otherwise, we’ll record incorrect wear values that could affect your maintenance planning.

You’ll receive a notification

If you’ve never used the platform before, you’ll receive a welcome notification on your chosen channel. This is for information purposes only. Additionally (whether you’ve used the platform before or not), you’ll receive an invitation to join your workshop’s workspace.

In this invitation you’ll find a link through which you’ll give your workshop permission to see information about your bikes and rides. Click on it to complete the registration process.

Set up your profile

Optional

At this point, you’ll already be registered in sincrona and your workshop will be able to see information about your bikes and rides. At this time, an account has been created for you with the email address you provided to your workshop. At any time you can log in to the platform with that email, but first you’ll need to set a password by clicking “Forgot your password?” on the login page.

By accessing the platform you can set up your profile and choose your notification preferences.

Synchronization Process

Once registered, the synchronization process of your bikes and rides will begin in the background. This process may take a few minutes to complete, depending on the number of bikes and rides you have registered.

The synchronization process varies slightly depending on the sports app you use. But it normally covers the following scenarios:

  • Initial synchronization
  • Real-time synchronization
  • Periodic synchronization

If you want to know more about how the synchronization process works in your specific app, check the apps section.
